About this programme

The CCNA has widened well past routing and switching, and this course follows it: IP connectivity and services, security fundamentals, wireless, and the network automation and programmability topics that now carry real weight in the exam. Every topic is paired with a lab you configure yourself in a browser-based environment, and your lab access stays live for twelve months after the cohort ends so you can keep practising for the exam on your own schedule.

Who should attend

  • Network engineers, NOC analysts, system administrators and graduates moving into infrastructure roles.

Prerequisites

  • No formal prerequisite. A working understanding of IP addressing helps, and we send a short primer before the first session if you need it.

Curriculum

5 modules, 45 hours of live instruction.

  • Module 1 Network fundamentals 10 hrs

The foundation the rest of the exam assumes you already have.

    • OSI and TCP/IP models
    • Cabling, interfaces and troubleshooting
    • IPv4 addressing and subnetting
    • IPv6 addressing
    • Virtualisation fundamentals
  • Module 2 Network access 9 hrs

Switching, VLANs and wireless, configured in your own lab.

    • VLANs and trunking
    • EtherChannel
    • Spanning Tree Protocol
    • Wireless architectures and WLAN configuration
  • Module 3 IP connectivity and services 11 hrs

Routing decisions, static and dynamic, plus the services that sit on top.

    • Routing table interpretation
    • Static routing and OSPFv2
    • First hop redundancy
    • NAT, NTP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, QoS
  • Module 4 Security fundamentals 8 hrs

The security topics the current blueprint actually tests.

    • Threats, vulnerabilities and mitigation
    • Access control lists
    • Layer 2 security features
    • Wireless security protocols
    • VPN concepts
  • Module 5 Automation and programmability 7 hrs

The newest weight in the exam, and the one most self-study candidates skip.

    • Controller-based networking
    • Software-defined architecture
    • REST APIs and JSON
    • Configuration management concepts

The exam

Roughly 100 questions, 120 minutes, including configuration and troubleshooting simulations.
